Title A name given to the resource Lutheran Hospital Subject The topic of the resource hospitals (buildings for health facility) Description An account of the resource The Lutheran Hospital was a general, independent, hospital that admitted patients of all faiths. The hospital did not admit tubercular patients. The facility’s capacity was 76 patients, with sixteen private rooms and sixty ward beds. The facility moved to Belleville and was renamed in the 1950s after Clara Maass, a local nurse who died in 1901 during research on yellow fever prevent.
