            <text>The building was initially designed as a Dutch Reformed Church by William H. Kirk and was extensively remodeled in the 1890s to accommodate the Italian Catholics that acquired this church. The steeple was removed after World War II.  In 1988, a fire destroyed the domed tower, the entire roof and a good portion of the interior. Today the building is home to the Assembly of God Church Centro Evangelistico.</text>
