            <text>Nies is best known for having designed numerous Delaware, Lackawanna &amp; Western Railroad stations, at least fifteen of which have been listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.  &#13;

Before working for the Delaware, Lackawanna &amp; Western, Nies was a partner in the architectural firm Finkler &amp; Nies, with Adolph Finkler, in Chicago in 1896.&#13;
&#13;
He is the architect behind Newark's Broad Street Station, a New Jersey Transit commuter rail and light rail station. The station's historic architecture includes an elegant clock tower and a brick and stone façade on the station's main building.</text>
