              <text>He had eight brothers, one of them, Edward Tuckerman Potter was also an Architect. &#13;

Potter designed multiple buildings for Princeton University as well as municipal buildings and churches. Among his apprentices was James Brown Lord. &#13;
&#13;
He was an assistant professor of Chemistry for one year at Columbia College, He later spent a year touring France. His professional training was at George B. Post in New York and later with his architect brother.  &#13;
&#13;
He served as the supervising architect of the treasury between 1874-1877. </text>
